Housing Terms and Conditions
We strongly recommend students use our transfer service. Students that use the FLS transfer service will be met at the airport by FLS staff, and will be checked in to their homestay. FLS will communicate and arrange the arrival and check-in with the host family. We will drive you to the family home and assist you with checking in. We will be with you in case there are any issues on arrival day or with your family.
FLS requires your flight information at least 7 days before your arrival in the United States. The Airport Transfer fee will not be refunded if a transfer is missed due to information received after this deadline, or due to a failure to inform FLS of changes in your itinerary.
If students choose not to use our transfer service, students will be responsible for communicating their arrival time to FLS Student Housing at least 7 days before you expect to move in to the family home. Students should arrive between 2-9 PM. Students should note that if they do not arrive at the home when they are expected the home may not be prepared, or the family may not be home.
Students are expected to leave their housing by noon on the day after their program ends. Students who request to leave housing after noon on Saturday should note that such requests are not guaranteed, and if granted will incur an additional housing charge.
Please note that an airport drop-off service at the completion of the program is not included in the Airport Transfer fee, and must be purchased separately at an additional cost.
Refunds must be requested in writing.
No refunds will be given for the first four weeks of accommodation. If 25% or less of the program has been completed 50% of the
unused accommodation portion will be refunded. If more than 25% and less than 50% has been completed, 25% of the unused accommodation portion will be refunded. If 50% or more of the program has been completed, no accommodation refund will be made.
Health insurance fees can only be refunded for complete 4-week terms that are not completed. Health insurance fee refunds are not prorated on a weekly basis. FLS will refund all fees within 45 days from the student’s last date of attendance or date of determination. All refund requests must be made in writing.
Students who are terminated due to violation of FLS’ written disciplinary and/or attendance policies, or local, state, or federal law are not eligible for a refund.
Housing Week and Extra Nights
FLS Student Housing charges housing by the week. A week is defined as Sunday through Saturday, so when you plan to check in to your homestay, you should plan to check in Sunday afternoon. When you leave, you should check out from your homestay by noon on Saturday.
If you need to arrive early or leave late, please contact FLS to make arrangements. Extra nights are charged $55 per night.
Housing payments must be made through FLS, and are due before you move into the homestay. Please notify FLS if you want to extend your stay. If you do not contact FLS regarding your plans, we may book another student in your home.
We recommend that you book and pay for your full period of stay when you book your housing. This allows us to reserve your room for your entire period of stay.

Trial Period and Housing Changes
The first seven days of your homestay are a trial period. If, for any reason, you do not feel the homestay is a good match for you, please contact FLS. We will move you to a new homestay free of charge.
If you want to move to another homestay family after the first week trial period, you must notify your original homestay family 15 days in advance. There is a $150.00 housing transfer fee that must be paid to FLS Student Housing prior to transfer.
We believe that our housing service is more than simply renting a room; you are treated as part of the homestay family. Because of this, students must follow the family rules regarding quiet times, use of the common areas and other facilities, family rules regarding smoking and alcohol, and other family rules.
There is no refund if you must be removed from the host family because of violation of family rules, or if repeated violation of family rules causes us to remove you from the housing program. Likewise there is no refund if you must be removed from the program due to illegal activities or illegal use of drugs or alcohol.
